Thay (Teacher) Thich Thong Chieu

Thay is the founder and spiritual teacher of Upeksa Village. He arrived from Vietnam in Australia in 1978.

After many years of caring for people as a pharmacist, he founded Upeksa Meditation Village in Penfield, South Australia, and ordained as a monk with Thien Su (Zen master) Thich Thanh Tu, head of Truc Lam in Vietnam.

Since then his whole life has been devoted to the growth of Buddhist Thien Practice, the growth of the garden at the village and the growth of a supportive spiritual community.
